SEO and inforgaphic should you write the word "infographic" in Alt text for better SEO ?

I'm doing a lot of infographic for my site and thinking what could be the best way to improve SEO for infographic.

Is there any guidlines to follow to make them rank better ? I'm putting them through my article so there is content around the infographic.
