Methods to find barely established businesses?

I'm brand new to SEO and finding it all very interesting. I'm currently taking Moz's and Ahref's courses, but I had a question I haven't seen an answer for yet.

I have a brand new digital product design business — I've pivoted from a different field, so I don't have many professional connections that are relevant for my new direction.

What are some methods of finding comparable businesses that are of the same size (tiny and barely starting). It's easy to use tools to find high ranking businesses, but they are at a totally different scale.

I'm specifically learning how to position myself to target the lower hanging clients for now to gain clients.

Thank you

Edit: if you are downvoting, could you tell me why? I'm always happy to learn

Best way for Local Trade website to get backlinks

Hi guys,

Pure Spam is back.

I guess Google gave up on the quality content thing.

idaily.com

It's insane how Google allows sites with authority to spam like that, but sites with low authority can't rank high quality content.

Why are all these backend "wp-admin" pages being indexed?

I used screaming frog SEO spider and it shows me that there are in total 357 pages on my site, the problem is that, most of those are like backend "wp-admin" pages, and next to them it says indexable..

I feel like this may be dragging down my SEO?

Would it benefit me to somehow hide these pages from google to help my SEO ranking? Also, how do I go about hiding these? Why do they get index'd if they arent supposed to be client facing. It index's photos that I uploaded to my site, ... see attached

Noob with 2 Websites - SAME niche - SEO/Google Ads?

Im a total noob when it comes to SEO and was hoping I could get some help.

Info: I will be starting a food blog and another website within the same niche. BUT each one will targeting different users within that niche. (ex: 1 will target home cooks (national), the other 1 will target growers (local)) I would like to rank for Organic and Paid in the same niche, maybe not the EXACT same keywords. But very similar.

I REALLY don't want to combine the two. For personal and business reasons.

1.) How should I go about doing this, while avoiding google penalizing you? (SEO, Google ADs targeting the same keywords)

2.) Can make both from the same computer/IP?

Thank you in advance.

EDIT: I will be blogging and both with have similar copyright but It will be different enough that I think it can avoid googles crawlers.

I have a forum with a lot of pages that are not indexed in Google. Are there consultants that specialize on getting more content pages in the index to get more long-tail traffic?

Most of the SEO advice I see is about creating content, articles, etc. And link building advice is mostly about ranking for a few "money keywords".

But in my case, I have a discussion forum with 989k pages in the sitemap files. But GWT shows only 218k of them indexed. The rest are "discovered currently not indexed" or "crawled currently not indexed". With most of them are not crawled, but only discovered.

This is not a new forum, so this isn't about waiting a bit more to give Google time to index those discovered pages.

Legacy crawler stats show around 32k pages being fetched per day. But pages aren't getting added. Or new pages are getting added but old ones get dropped from the index.

I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to get more pages indexed and then maybe improve overall ranks. Not for a few main keywords but for all those long-tail keywords in all those discussion threads on all those pages.

Do SEO people even specialize on something like that? Or is it mostly about creating content, adding some H1 tags and hoping for the best?

I am unable to generate organic SEO

I started my blog in Dec 2019. Since then I have published more than 30 high-quality articles of around 1500 words on average. I get around 6k-7k page views every month and almost all of them are through referral traffic and social media. I am unable to get any organic traffic.

On top of it, my Adsense account is only giving me $ 1.5/RPM. I am just trying to understand where my strategy is falling short. Is it because, I am getting most referral and social media traffic, I am getting low RPM rates? And even after 3-4 months my organic traffic is only about 150 visitors per month.

Any suggestions here will be very helpful.

How to add URL parameters on click action?

On our website, we have URL tracking parameters on links to other pages. We added correct canonical URLs on those pages, but still, I would like to save crawling budget and I'm searching for a way to do it without removing URL parameters. In my case blocking these URL parameters using robots.txt file isn't an option.

I've read one blog post that suggests adding URL parameters using the "param-string=" function.

So as I understood URL like this for Google bot would be without parameters, they would only be added for the user when he clicks on it. Does it still work? Or are there any other options to do that?

I have an indexing problem and I think you guys might be able to help!

Hi guys,

I have an indexing problem that I have never encountered before. I am hoping someone here has encountered similar and can provide a solution or at least let me know this is perfectly normal.

I am currently using old content (from around 2014) on a new domain. The content I am using is from a domain I used to own. I imported the data into Wordpress using MySQL.

I finished restoring the site around 2 weeks ago and added the domain and sitemap to Search Console.

For some reason though Google really doesn't like this site and really doesn't seem to want to index it naturally.

In Search Console I get the following message: Discovered – currently not indexed Status: Excluded

Now, I am aware this means that Google has found the URLS but for some reason chose to not index them. The theory is that it stops before completion.

What concerns me more is Googles lack of further indexing and ranking. For example, I can manually add a link and boom, within 24 hours it's listed in Google. My issue is that Google does not crawl these new links throughout the website. Also, if I search for the listed pages using keywords and keyphrases unique to the site. It doesn't rank at all.

I mean, out of like 60,000,000 results for things like "mainkeyword" "keyphrase" "keyword2" "keyword3" "keyword4" "keyword5" I am nowhere to be seen. spam pages rank but not mine.

To me, this doesn't seem normal or natural.

does anyone have any idea what may be causing this as I am running out of ideas?

more info: i have checked robots.txt and .htacess and they both look fine. just standard wordpress generated files. the site has good content and good internal linking structure. There are currently of 8 pages indexed and 152 excluded. most of these 152 (around 120) I would like ranking.

Is it possible to rank in organic search without being confirmed by Google?

I'm speaking of businesses specifically. How important is confirming your business to organic search results? I understand that it's vital for the Map Pack, but I can't find anything about its importance when it comes to the actual search results.

The reason I ask is because I started my business in January and have been waiting two months for my confirmation postcard. I've hit the first page and my on-page SEO is on point, while my DA isn't too low to compete in this market, going by my competitors. But I can't help but wonder if not having this Google confirmation is holding me back.

Author Bio Question

I manage SEO for a small financial institution, and we're in the process of adding author bios to our blog content (the platform we use did not allow for this previously).

Recently, we started working with a few new-ish freelance copywriters, and I'm very pleased with the work they've produced. They work hard to synthesize complex financial information, and the performance of our blog has gone through the roof over the last six months.

However, when it comes to author bios, I'm a bit torn on whether we should use group attribution or individual bios. When using freelancers, is it better to have the article attributed to a (relatively) inexperienced writer? Or attributed to the institution itself?

Any advice you can offer would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

Tried Everything For Website optimization: Need expert guidance and opinion to reduce page load time

Hello people!

For the past 6 months, I have been working to develop a website for my company. It is a responsive site built on Wordpress with totally static content and contains around 120 pages. We have installed the theme bifrost. Website URL: https://labhgroup.com

Initially, the metrics were page size (20 MB), load time (18 sec) and requests (300+) We started optimizing the pages by following the tips provided by GTMetrix and other SEO blogs like Moz and Neil Patel.

Eventually, we brought down the metrics (Size: 3 MB, time: 12 s, requests: 120). Even with these optimizations, we still got a 0 score on Google page speed insights.

We compared the metrics of our competitors and discovered that even though they have higher page size and requests, their page load time was very low.

Please guide me; what should I do to bring down my page load time. My target is around 5 seconds. The main reason that I suspect for a 0 score on page speed insights is the high page load time.

I am completely clueless as we have tried everything and are reaching nowhere.

Google is trying to crawl excluded and blocked pages, more than 16 million

My colleagues sent me a very interesting situation:

  1. Google started crawling a very large volume of blocked pages, already found 16 million)) Blocked URL in the robots.txt, meta noindex, and then added X-Robots-Tag noindex
  2. in the server has increased load, almost 1000 times
  3. there are no 503 errors, the server can withstand loading
  4. an XML sitemap, everything is clean
  5. the site is 1 year old
  6. clicks and impressions are growing in Google Search Console, but for now
  7. very strange, but google does not go so far on the pages... and here 27 slashes (/.../.../.../.../... etc) in the link +/- 25 clicks from the main page
  8. in the log file is really a lot of Googlebot - 500 thousand per day
  9. the backlinks are also clean, no spam

Targeted keywords

Hi everyone! I had a discussion with my boss concerning some of our targeted keywords, so I wanted to have your opinions, since I'm still a newbie. So basically our service is to provide a price comparison between several suppliers. Over the years, some suppliers were either bought by a bigger player or went bankrupt, which is just a normal thing in any kind of industry. However some of those gone suppliers still have a fair amount of monthly volume of search linked to them, even though it's been 3-4 years they're not active anymore. Not a huge volume, but still. In my opinion, it's not essential to try to target them, as they're not relevant anymore. But my boss thinks otherwise. What are your general opinion about the question? Should I include them in my plan? I don't mind, but there are so many other more relevant keywords, that I feel like I'd be wasting my time with them, just to capture traffic from a few laggards... Thanks for your help!

Bad idea to use keyword that has low difficulty and linking domains but bad back-links?

I've been thinking about starting a blog and am new to doing keyword research. I found a keyword that was rated to have a low difficulty despite having a pretty high search volume. According to that SEO tool it also showed that most of the top 10 webpages for that keyword had few linking domains

When I looked at some of those top 10 webpages and their linking domains, it seemed like the vast majority were either from sites that I don't think provide good backlinks (sites such as prlog.ru), webpages such as from blogspot that seemed very outdated and their content only consisted of links to other sites and their domain names had nothing to do with the keyword, or coupon sites (such as promocodesfree.com) which doesn't make sense to me as the blog posts were free

For some of the sites in the top 10 google rankings for that keyword, I guess they ranked high because their Domain Authorities were high. But I'm confused as to how those other webpages with lowish DAs made the top 10

Is this the norm when doing keyword research? Is this a sign that I shouldn't pursue this keyword as I'll also likely get bad backlinks?

Ever since I got into webdev (2 yrs ago) I've been listening about how wordpress is so good for seo and how google prefers it over other web tech out there. Recently, a friend of mine who does SEO for a living told me that Google is not giving much emphasis on wordpress sites these days and its getting much harder ranking them. Is it true? Is wordpress not good for SEO in 2020??

"Doorway" pages. If they are not relevant why does everyone use them?

I own a cleaning company, we have a page for each city we service with about half unique content on each page. I have been told by many SEO experts these are "doorway pages", that they are an old strategy, that google will de-rank us etc. And, like all things SEO... I have been told by an equal number of seemingly equally competent SEO experts that this is merely part of the game. I've had people go as far as saying it is a best practice.

Also, worth noting virtually every cleaning company in our area that ranks, ranks for pages like this. The only exception being companies named after the cities they are in.

My question: Who do I hire of these two camps and why? If not via these pages how will they actually get us ranking in these local areas in any reasonable amount of time?

Shopify SEO Collection Pages Vs Blogs

Hey, I have a theory about using Shopify’s collection pages to rank well. For context, last year I wrote a review of the best Parking Barriers and housed it on a Shopify Collection page. It now ranks super well for parking barrier, parking space blocker... I think it ranks well because Google favors product/collection pages for product keywords, I have a ton of content and some backlinks.

Contrastingly, last month I wrote an article reviewing Parking Signs but I made it a blog page and not a product collection. Although there hasn’t been enough time to disprove that the blog page will rank well, I believe collection pages help rank for product keywords better than blogs do. I think the best way to rank for keywords like “parking barrier, parking space blocker, and no parking signs” is with collection pages/product pages that have lots of content.

Good idea to create infographic for Competitors to get good backlinks?

I haven't started blogging yet because I first want to have some plan on what content to focus on. I've picked a keyword and niche, and took a look at the webpages that ranked in the top 10 google results and I think I can improve on those webpages by creating infographics

From what I've gathered, the traffic you get depends on heavily on your google ranking which is heavily determined by the number of quality backlinks you have to websites with high DA

Is it a good idea to create an infographic and send it sites that would benefit from it (such as the ones in the top 10 ranking for the keyword I'm targeting), so that way those infographic links would lead to traffic on my webpage? Or is that not a good idea to do that for my competitors?

Do I need to update meta descriptions for pages I've no-indexed?

I did a screaming frog search on a site I'm working on and I have a buncha pages missing meta descriptions.

I can go and add them in but a lot of them are pages I've no indexed.

So I have a couple questions.

  1. If screaming frog is showing errors on these pages does that mean my no-index didn't work? I used Yoast several days ago to disallow showing the pages in search results.
  2. Do I need to update these pages even if I no indexed them?

Thanks!

Youtube changing SEO on older videos

Hey there! Let's get straight to it. Way back, when I first started the channel I was just guessing the keywords and not optimizing the titles and descriptions. Recently I dived into more complete SEO research and purchased a tubebuddy subscription. Anyways I wen't back and optimized some of the older & more successful videos on my channel and I'm wondering if there is a certain time frame when YouTube analyzes these changes to the metadata? I'm not looking for miracles just a time frame to see the effect these changes have.

tl;dr: How long till Yt analyzes the changes to the metadata & results (good or bad) can be seen.

Publish Raw or Pimp Till Perfection?

Hi,

I have over 50 articles around 100k words in total just sitting there waiting to be published. I really procrastinate on this since I know how much time it will take to pimp each article, find pictures, credit pictures, etc, etc.

Wouldn't it be wiser to publish raw content with ToC, subheadings in place and then pimp one by one with picturea, interlinking as time goes? Would this hurt the rankings? Or shall I publish "almost perfect" from the get go?

Thanks!

How do you post any explanatory link here?

Tried to search for posting rules and contacted the admins, but no luck.

I have been trying to post a thread where I ask you guys to judge my permalink structure, and I'm using dummy domains (XYZ) so I respect the rule of not posting links in a self-serving way.

Needless to say, the post hasn't gone through. Have tried to unlink hyperlinks, change TLDs, but no result.

Using a theme demo layout in WordPress can hurt my SEO?

Well there's the thing, I need to build a website and won't have too much time to do it. So I'm just going to get a theme from themeforest (or maybe just pay for generatepress premium) and import a demo content to edit later all the text and relevant information (obviously I should touch a little bit the design but not too much).

The question is: Google can take this as "duplicate content" in any way? I want to be clear in something all texts in the website is going to be created by me, but anyway there's a possibility to be penalized by Google?

Google Search Console is showing inbound links while they were supposed to be "nofollow" inbount links.

It's my understanding that in Google Seach Console, under the "Links" section for a specific verified domain property, I will find (all?) the inbound links to said domain that Google has indexed.

Which in general it's true: I found in that list the expected number of inbound links, in my company's GSC, and in my clients' GSCs. (We're a web agency)

Note now that it's the agency policy to put a NOFOLLOW link to our main website, for branding reasons.

Also, we recently (8-12 weeks ago) released for couple of clients of ours, two different ecommerce websites, with thousands of pages each.

We're now seeing that under our own GSC "Links" section that we have several thousands of inbound links from said websites, even though they are NOFOLLOW.

The "offending" websites are correctly setup, and in their GSCs there's also a sitemap, with the expected number of links being crawled/indexed by Google almost everyday.

So, is my assumption wrong? What else should I be checking?

Edit: typos

Home Page with Blog Excerpt ranking higher than blog post itself?

My client recently added a blog post dealing with the effects of coronavirus / covid-19 on her industry. The good news is that she is appearing on page one of local searches for this keyword after a single day. The weird news is that it is her home page, which has an excerpt of each of her recent blog posts, that is ranking and not the blog post itself.

Is this a normal occurrence? Should I be doing something special to make sure the blog post gets the higher visibility, as it has a meta title and meta description that would attract more clicks than her home page meta data for this topic.

One Article or Multiple Articles targeting Separate keywords

I've been reading some books on SEO and following some online guides, doing SEO for friends and families in the hopes of branching out on my own. - I've had great success so far.

A question I have through is some guides recommend setting up a page based on overall topic Example:

Topic: Plumbing London

Main Keyword: Plumber London

Secondary Keywords: Best plumbers in South London, Emergency Plumber, Plumbing services.

So the above would be one article with the topic being plumbing London and sprinkle the sub keywords in that article OR:

Would I create a separate article for each keyword? - I'll Admit I haven't tried this method yet, wanted to understand what everyone is doing or what works best.

Thanks!

Sub domain or new domain SEO

I was curious what your opinions are on sub domains vs new domain for being listed in google. Currently our company has a successful manufacturing site xyz .com which is b2b. In order to play off our strong business brand we thought when making our new b2c site we would create a sub domain shop.xyz.com. However the main domain and sub domain seem to be getting mixed up in google and marketing seems more difficult. Do you think we should move to a new domain for our b2c site like xyz.shop instead of the sub domain shop.xyz.com

Malicious links on website from server attack. Links removed leaving pages 404'ed. What is the best action to take, should I 301 redirect the 404'ed malicious links to home page or otherwise?

Hi all,

Appreciate your inputs and help in advance.

My company's server was compromised with attackers creating malicious pages. The server has since been secured and malicious pages removed. Leaving 404 URLs such as:

domain.com /videos/vi-deo-nhl-game-day-ducks-vs-canadiens-live-tv020.02.07T12.html

What is the best action to take from here? Some thoughts are:

- 301 redirect 404'ed URLs to home page

- Set up custom 404 page

- Set up 410 HTTP code

- do nothing and hope Google unindexes page

Fix google penalties from 2012 or start again?

My personal business website, once fairly prominent in Google searches for my keywords had it's traffic fall off a cliff somewhere in 2012-2013. *Panda?*

I haven't done anything with my website since then and business has had to come elsewhere than from google but I want to (need to) get this back.

I didn't do that much SEO back in 2010-2012 when I had great rankings, a nice hand-coded website and keywords seemed to be enough back then, but when I started to slide to 5th instead of 1st I did do some link swapping etc and I think probably buying links to .edu's or something is what got me in trouble.

The question is whether this has been left too long to fix it or if it's better to start again with a new domain?

I have some good links from what were back then authority domains (BBC for an example)

SEO Advice for re-designs

Hi,

Having done a major overhaul on my website approx. 5 weeks ago, going from Joomla 3.8 to Wordpress 5.4 using Elementor Pro as a page builder.

The site beforehand wasn't performing badly in SEO results, but due to wanting to move away from Joomla and not wanting to renew our SEO plugin, I made copies of all the backlinks, SEO keywords/meta descs/titles and essentially set the new website up in Wordpress to look the same (or near enough) inc. the same text/image content.

As far as I can see, the website is identical in terms of content, images, design, and keyword/meta title/description usage. Any URLs missing from the new website had a 301 redirect to the most relevant page, and I've had Google re-index the site and see my new sitemaps.

The only real difference is my Joomla URLs were '/thispage.htm', whereby my new site has '/thispage' which redirects to '/thispage/'. There's a 301 redirect in place for '/thispage.htm' to '/thispage'.

For about two weeks after going live, the SEO rankings didn't change - fine, I'm more than happy with that.

I keep an eye on my rankings with UberSuggest, and noticed that Monday 20th April (approx 3 weeks after go-live), each of my rankings for my keywords (bar a select few) have dropped by around 50 positions. I've kept an eye on this every day since then, and they're either moving up 1 or 2 positions, or dropping further down.

Is there something I'm missing if all of the content and readability is the same?

Local SEO for 4-6 months or recurring?

I am a web designer and recently have started getting into digital marketing and learning about Local SEO as a few of my clients have asked about the service. When selling these Local SEO services, do you normally do it for 4-6 months or is this a continuous recurring service that you are selling?

I am struggling to package these services for a client. I know the work for Local SEO is very front-heavy with all the on-site optimizations and citation work but it would be nice to have a recurring stream of revenue and be able to provide value to the client on a continuous basis. I have thought about pricing it higher for the first 2 months and then a lower price moving forward for the next 3-4 months as more of a maintenance package. Any recommendation in how to price this out over the period of 4-6 months or even on a longer term basis would be great to hear from some of your experts who have been doing this for a long time...

SPA slow pagespeed impacts

Hi all,

We’re due to launch an update to our site which is built on SPA and in practical use is significantly faster than the current version of our site.

However all pagespeed tests are showing horrific load times for both desktop and mobile. We’re working on some factors (image compression etc) but I’m concerned that in loading most of the site in the first instance, search engines will never view a page as fast and this will impact our ability to rank going forward.

Has anyone else had similar issues with SPA? How much of a pinch of salt should be taken with pagespeed testing? Any advice would be excellent.

Cheers!

Huge loss in traffic due domain migration. Did I miss something from SEO perspective?

Hi, I have migrated my website https://vihara.nl to https://meditatieinstituut.nl.

I think I have done everything perfect for SEO. Still the rankings have huge drops, and so does traffic.
I have done the migration 1,5 week ago.
Nothing is changed in the content and also the url structure is exactly the same.

This I have done:
- 301 redirects from old to new domain for every url
- new domain is running from CDN (Cloudflare) with the same settings
- SSL for the new domain is set up exact the same way
- set up the migration in Google Search Console
- uploaded the new sitemap in search console (and this is working)
- updated the internal links to the new domain
- changed the most important external links to the new domain (where possible)

I believe everything is done in best practice. But maybe I missed something?
If I did not miss something, I guess it will take time before Google have transfered all the authority from the old domain to the new domain, which influences the rankings.
In Search Console there was a mention that it can take 180 days before all pages from the new domain are indexed, instead of the old domain. Maybe it also takes 180 days to tranfer all authority?
Or maybe not all autority will be transfered so I will have a unrecoverable loss because of the transfer.

Looking forwards to your thoughts. Let's hope I missed something that can be restored ;-)

Thanks!

How do I go about it?

I have seen that I rank on average 10th position for a keyword in Canada. How do I make it to rank higher? Do I insert that keyword in my post?

Newbie thoughts on SEO strategy, am I correct?

Hi Guys,

I am an internet business newbie, to be exact i am generally aware of the system and the overall picture, but it is the details that i do not quite understand and the devil is in the details, perhaps your answers will be useful for other newbies like me.

So my situation is the following - i have developed a straight forward e-commerce website related to fashion and apparel product, also i have an editorial/blog part of the website with fashion/culture/art topics… now the next obvious step would be to start driving traffic to the website for exposure and feedback, apart from social media referrals and affiliate bloggers referrals i am reading that SEO is an essential fundamental necessity for organic traffic.

I am reading blogs about SEO to understand, but it is still very on a surface for me and i have more questions then i find answers, so i am hoping to find answers here:

  1. I am seeing a lot of ads for SEO services on sites like fiverr/upwork/seoclerks offering 50 backlinks for 10-20 dollars, i am wondering how effective are those, considering that they are posting links to various random directories that most probably have nothing to do with my niche, and perhaps it might be good for google seeing my site, but most probably won’t drive me any relevant traffic within my niche? what are the benefits here short term / long term?
  2. If hiring such services is ineffective and waste of my time and resources (I don’t know, I assume, just based on my first question above) I would be much better off with finding a dedicated SEO expert who already has experience in my niche, and will develop a step by step SEO strategy for my site. What should i expect in this scenario? does the person need to have experience in my niche to understand my site and my competitors, or any SEO expert person will be relevant and effective as long as they can analyse and suggest keywords to focus on? Where to look for such freelancers, who are offering less generic solutions?
  3. Considering that i am a bootstrapping startup, short on cash and i do not expect results immediately from one week to another, but planning to achieve 50K organic visitors per month from my target market countries by the end of this year (2020). What would be the minimum requirements for that, in terms of how many new editorial blogposts per month is a decent average to have to achieve my target (we write about 1500+ words per post). What shall be an expectation in terms of the budget to achieve the set target. Is my target achievable with SEO efforts? And what shall be my first step to initiate this project?
  4. As i understand correctly i cannot SEO my initial general domain as it is just a homepage with a shop/editorial selector, but instead I shall SEO each and every editorial article we post, one by one right? What should i do for the product pages? can i SEO each and every product page too? so practically I select one article of mine, identify 5-6 keywords it talks about, and try to get backlinks for this article url as much as possible so it ranks in google for these given 5-6 keywords, this is what SEO means in practice, am i right?

These are 4 general questions that keep me up at night at the moment. I have a very general idea of what keywords and backlinks are, as my expertise is in a completely different domain, so i would rather delegate this to an expert, but i want to understand what it means first. Looking forward to your answers. Also don’t hesitate to DM me.

SEO solution for websites not built on framework

Has anyone on here done SEO on a site without using a framework (like WordPress, Joomla, magento, drupal etc) . Is there an SEO solution that can be "plugged in" without a framework or do we need to do it on our own?

We looked at Yoast but it requires a framework so I'm wondering if there is a solution out there

SEO / Web Job Titles

Hello

So I am doing a small career shift from a front end engineer / webmaster to marketing but the roles are very confusing to me and smell like snake-oil.

What is the difference between the following:

SEO

  1. Specialist
  2. Expert
  3. Manager
  4. Consultant
  5. Executive

and which one of those does not require any technical front-end programming skills?

  1. Web Analyst

I remember back in the day an Analyst was considered QA especially for the back-end but now it is related to marketing and not to the actual functionality of the site? I am so confused.

Thank you so much for your time

Targeting Keywords using blog Posts

Hi Guys,

I was wondering whats your experience or how viable it is ranking for keywords using a blog post. Lets say the keyword is in my industry but isn't actually in my title tag or home page. If I wrote a blog post using that keyword in the title, would I need links to that specific blog post to rank it higher for the keyword i'm aiming to rank for or would that not matter and the authority of my website would push it up.

Is it better to link build directly to my home page or to that blog post targeting my desired keyword?

Cheers

Schema.org WebPage's keywords == meta keywords ??

Would Google ignore if I put keywords inside WebPage->keywords property in the structured data on my website's pages? I've understsood the meta keyword tags aren't utilized anymore, so is the situtaion identical with the keywords property as well?
