I have been into SEO for about four years now.
And never have I ever failed so miserably to convince someone to get onboard with the requirements.
I have been working as lead SEO for about 1 year here, and I m just unable to get the business owner to understand that we need to focus on building content regularly. Improving, revamping seo content and building fresh new content for first principle topics related to the product.
I have tried new article traffic contribution, %change in new article traffic against %change in existing article traffic and few more bits here & there.
The problem is trend and the keyword volume of articles picked up in different parts of the year are distorting the picture.
The product is in a niche industry and pumping good amount of content is needed to achieve big targets as search volumes go rarely above 100 in one country.
What data points do I use to show the importance of content.
I have increased the revenue by about 35% in Q3 & Q4 of 2020, using the content publishing pace, optimising for revenue and basic technical seo.
But 2021 has been a struggle for growth as there is either not a lot of keywords left to play with or the handful left are extremely competitive to gain 1st position, yet.
Hence the need for new content going deeper into the niche.
