Problem with Growing Impressions

Hi,

I have a site that despite all the ongoing optimisation, impression growth is flat at 200 a day. I can't find any problems with my site and the content is unique and based on an illustrated children's book collection of 26 short stories which was released as a printed A4 book in April.

Reaching out to cleverer people than me for a second opinion....

RECENT CHANGES

The site bounce was very high so initially focused efforts on reducing the bounce with an update to the site structure. This seemed to have been successful in the targeted of bounce duration etc metrics but has not borne any fruit for my labours by an increase of impressions

• Users - (minus) -50,66%. (1230 vs 2493)
• New Users - (minus) -50.77% (1222 vs 2482)
• Sessions - (minus) -48.66% (1532 vs 2984)
• Num of ses per user (plus) +4.06% (1.25 vs 1.20)
• Page views (minus) -40.76% (3107 vs 5245)
• Pages ses (plus) 15.38% (2.03 vs 1.76)

• 64 Clicks - Growth flat from start to end of the period
• 5500 Impressions - Growth very slight
• Av CTR - 1.2% - Growth slight downhill trend
• Av Position - 32.3 - Slight drop in averages
• Sitemap indexed - Yes
• Indexed Queries - 478
• Indexed pages & files 101

SITE INFO

• Niche - Children's book series
• CMS Wordpress with Avada
• Ranked leading competitor over 5 million users per anum
• Large pages with an excess of 1500 words, images and videos
• Free books as web, MP3, PDF's
• USP - Cartoons, My older work was a bit ropey but have vastly improved. My latest author narrated cartoon/video (published 17 May 2021) hit suggested for a couple of hours and achieved 1000 views on YT in the first 24 hours and has had over 120 likes
• Brand - Now is very much on point. Site has been having minor updates but nothing drastic for the last three months, just new content
• Site - Optimised for target keywords short and long-form
• Technical SEO - Seobility Scores around 89%
• Page load times - 0.77
• Outreach campaign has begun and am working on it. At the moment - 58 inbound domains
• Site pages - 90
• Pages ranking only for 2 key terms Each story is target at a different keyterm
• DR Score 20

I will be continuing with my outreach, to build up my backlink profile. In the meantime I am now at a total loss on what else I can do to improve these impressions.
