How to format Google search queries

Hello.

This may not be the typical seo post since I do not own a business but I would like to learn for personal reasons how I should format my search in Google for the best result. I am stuck trying to figure out which keyword will give me the best information: "how to get better at soccer" vs "how to become a better soccer player" vs "how to get good at soccer" vs "how to become a good soccer player" vs "how to improve at soccer", etc. Is there a free tool that can give me more suggestions similar to these if I type in soccer and sort by questions(I don't want to pay since it isn't for business)? Obviously, the serps for these keywords are completely different and I am trying to decide which one to go with for the best source of information. Also for something like "how to get good at chess" vs "how to get better at chess" vs "how to become a better chess player". They all turn up different serps. Some results from one keyword are included in another, but the ranking is different and I know that the first website is always the best. Because of this, I am not sure which keyword I should be using since all of them have different pages for the first result. Is there a tool that can show me what people search for the most and maybe even show me keywords that I haven't thought of relating to these subjects? Or is there a different way I should think about it? Thanks.
