Hi, I just started doing providing local SEO services, and on my own. Yes noob here. I'm in the process of building my website & brand. But at the moment I'm struggling to find even my first client. I've reached out to friends, family, and other businesses I've used personally or a contractor from work. At first I had like 8 leads and was very excited. But they were all a dead end.
I'm now finding service businesses (more emergency or labor based, like landscaping or pest control), on Fb local groups. I like their page and message them offering to do a video audit of their website. I usually dont even get "read". I send another message to remind them I'm here. I want to keep bothering them but I don't want to solicite.
But I've reached out to sooo many and only 3 said yes. Out of the 3, 1 said he was going to call today but didn't, #2 seemed interested but never replied when I said we should talk on the phone, #3 isnt interested until next year.
Anyways I don't mean to ramble but I'm probably not approaching them the right way. I've never done sales or cold anything. I'm not really sure what to do. I also post on the fb groups saying different things like "is anyone looking to get new customers" or "can people find you on google? I'll show you" (ok I confess... not original, I copied, which for some reason worked for those ppl, but no replies on mine).
My next approach is to just go on page 2 of google and cold call these businesses. Now I know the key is to connect w them and have a conversation. This may sound dumb.. but how would you even go about that when they answer the phone they'll ask how can I help you... then I'd just get straight to the point. Now I'm just rambling.. Help?
