Okay, I'm not entirely sure how to explain this without explaining the whole story. I have a Wordpress website on DIVI, if that's relevant.
Two months ago I made a horrific decision to leave GoDaddy and go to Siteground. I had been with GD for almost a decade but was looking for improved speeds. What I received from Siteground was a disaster. I had just redone my website and worked on some SEO too (this is relevant). Long story short (I can talk for hours about why Siteground is shit), I signed up for Cloudflare, a recommendation from Siteground. Cloudflare tells you it will add a www. to your link if you don't already have it. I didn't but I wrongly assumed Cloudflare would automatically create a redirect.
I check my Search Console about once a month. After doing the website revamp, SEO revamp, and server change, I expected a drop in traffic for a bit. I checked my search console every week, knowing that the drop would happen. Except my tiny little website went from 800+ click-throughs to FIFTY. Then for shits and giggles, I double-checked if it was indexing. Google was like, "what website?" Cue panic and a long long weekend of crying and yelling at Siteground employees who not only couldn't deviate from their customer service scripts, they consistently told me they wouldn't/couldn't help me figure out what was going on. I checked pages in SC and discovered that a redirect loop from my OG URL was happening and although www. had been thrown into the URL, the https:// version was in a perpetual redirect loop. Cue working with GD, transferring back (which was a nightmare thanks to Siteground) and getting nowhere. ANOTHER long story short (We're talking about forty hours in a weekend here), I discovered someone or something had gone into my redirects and literally put my whole website URL into it. I'm not sure if it was an automatic change by Cloudflare or by the Siteground employee that supposedly did the transfer for me. Deleted the redirect and it was fine, thank gods. Yes, it was THAT simple but some employees at GD are THAT dumb. lol
Except now my sitemap or robots.txt file has kept the www. link (I don't know how to alter either). It is also now taking Http links and converting them to www., which doesn't exist anymore either. My whole website should be Https (no www) and despite using Better Search Replace plugin to try and fix this, it's a problem. AHREFs is telling me this fuck up is coming up as multiple 404s. I have NO idea how to fix this, it's reached a level I don't know how to fix. I don't even know the right questions to ask. Hoping someone can help me!!
If it helps, my website is https://creatrixphotography.com
