Core Web Vitals use field data to calculate page speed. It's no longer just about how fast your page loads, but how fast your users can load a page.
This means that sites with a userbase with slow internet will suffer under this new system.
The overall effect will be that sites with a wealthier userbase will get a bump versus sites with a poorer userbase. Sites with more users in cities will get more of a bump from CWV than sites with users in rural areas.
I know that CWV are just one ranking factor - but this feels like a big problem. Am I wrong?
All else being equal should the imaginary website (I haven't checked) "highfalutincitycrosswords.com" beat "countrycrosswords.com" for the search "crosswords" just because of where their users are more likely to live?
