Redirecting a decent ranking website to a better ranking website. Should I be worried?

My company has two websites that are both active and bringing in revenue.

The older website has become outdated and is no longer worked on by developers, it kind of just runs itself. However the time has come to migrate these customers to the new site and with that a domain redirection is required.

Assuming the migrations is done right (301 mapping, change of address in GSC, asking to change links) is there any worry that migrating the old site could impact the SEO of the new site?

Both websites are in the same niche, at the moment they are effectively competing in the SERPs. The migration isn’t been done for SEO reasons but In I’m hoping redirecting the old site will give the new site a ranking boost. Is there anything to be worried about? Thanks
