Noob needs help - question about keywords and user intent

(Cross-posting from r/affiliatemarketing - apologies if you've seen duplicate)

Hi all,

I've identified a set of low difficulty, decent traffic keywords that I think I can rank for.

However, when I google the keywords I've found that users are indicating transactional intent as the majority of 1st page search results are for ecommerce sites. Is it still worth creating content aimed at these keywords if I think I can rank for them, despite the fact that this is the case?

I do believe that these users haven't quite decided exactly what they will buy, and there is room for persuasion; it is debatable that all users are intending to buy straight away and their actual intent in many cases may still be information gathering.

I can't tell if the lack of competition is a good or bad thing.. some helpful advice of feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jack
