Hi, I'm in SEO since 2018. I've started as an SEO copywriter. After a year of writing texts I decided to study this staff so that I could offer SEO services in full complex. In 2019 I started to work full time as an SEO manager in a jewelry brand. I've achieved some nice results and after a year and half became Head of content-marketing department. I have in this company a nice salary (for residents of Ukraine, this is considered good money), but I'm still working extra 10 hours per week on UpWork. Usually on Upwork I was working on short term projects (provide keyword research, fix some technical errors or competitor audit). Now I want to leave my job and work as a freelancer. I really like working in SEO, but linkbuilding for me is a pain in the ass. The reason why I hate it: 1. You need a budget from your client to buy sometimes links. 2. I cannot calculate how many links I can get in a certain period. I can say that I need 5 hours for a competitor audit, 4-5 hours to finish keyword research, but I'm not able to say that I can provide in 10 hours 20 links with an avarage DA 50+.
P.S. 90% of my projects are hourly contracts
So I thought it over and decided to find a partner partner who can do the linkbuilding part. Is this a normal practise? And how do you deal with this situation (If you also don't like doing it).
Sorry, if the post is too big. This question has been troubling me for a long time and therefore I decided to share it with those who are working in this field.
