Writing on substack.com without a custom domain (abc.substack.com) is obviously pretty bad for SEO.
Now, while I have a SEO-wise successful personal blog run on WordPress, I'd like to start a side-project with a pseudonym on Substack. As 90% of my traffic of my blog comes from Google & Co, I want the same for my new Substack project — especially long-term.
Substack offers a custom domain for a one-time fee of $50 — which, I think, is fair when I compare it with the costs and hustle of setting up a new WordPress.
Are articles on a substack with custom domain ranked by Google just as a WordPress site? Are there any downsides?
THANKS.
