I have a page that I'm coordinating optimizations for that is a co-brand loyalty credit card landing page soliciting sign-ups, and we can't seem to come to a consensus on an updated Meta Description.
- On one side, our Content Team (who owns content on the domain) is very strict about not including CTAs in their copy based on our brand/voice guidelines.
- On the other side, our Co-Brand Team (who has a strong claim of ownership over the page on this domain but not total ownership) insists that "financial marketing regulations" require us to include something like "Click for details," "Learn More," or etc.
Both sides are loathe to budge, but if there really is a regulation requiring a more market-y CTA in the Meta Description, I'm happy to tip the scale and settle this standstill once and for all.
Has anyone here worked with something like this in the past? Do such regulations require a CTA?
Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.
