What's the Fastest Way to Recover SEO after a site hack?

Hello all!

I just wanted some advice on recovering a site's reputation in Google after a hack. Any tips/things to do other than just continuing to create good content, build good links and be patient? I'm feeling really disheartened about it.

Context:

My travel blog was taking in 105k monthly views and ranking at the top of Google for a lot of search terms. I'd worked really hard on the SEO and at writing thorough content and was making really good progress. I don't really use social media to promote, 95% of traffic is/was organic.

Last week I was hit with the Japanese keyword hack. I caught it pretty quick and was able to remove the malicious codes, remove spammy pages and resubmit site maps but some of my posts have been completely removed from Google. Trying to stay positive and focus this month on continuing to build good content and expanding on old posts. I realise that it may take a while before everything is back as it was, but does anyone have any additional tips?

Thank you!
