Page with our content on another site ranking better than on our own?

Hey guys!

I work on SEO for this company and I'm definitely not an expert there but I've been doing really well with link building and getting us traffic.

Recently we published a comprehensive guide (100% of the content is our own, pictures and text alike). This one website asked to copy our content and link back to us. They did that so there should be no problem with that.
Here's the thing, this website ranks #3mil on Alexa, whereas we are at 616K.

However, in search results after just a day, this website outranks us for this specific term. It makes no sense.

The post is exactly the same. Could this be because their domain contains one word that can be found in the focus keyword?
I'm just baffled and a bit worried I've done something wrong and trying to understand the situation.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and thank you for your contribution, it helps a lot!
