Facebook page as top result. - how to beat it?

Hi,
I'm climbing up the first page on google for a term that is not super competitive, it's location based. After I get to the top for this location I'm going to start the same term but on the national level (ireland). There are only about 437,000 results for the term with this location atm. My homepage is in the 6th position at the moment and my contact page is in 7th. I made both of those pages pillar content. Should I have done that? Also the number one spot is not even a physical domain but a facebook page. The guy really has goodsocial media skills, especially with his youtube channel and Facebook page. Am I going to have to use social to usurp him as well ? I really dislike using facebook for promotion.
