Help me understand Google Search *basics* such as Cached Page, Source Code etc?

Hey guys I don't have a professional or serious background in any Info-Tech field. I had one primary question that should hopefully be very easy to answer.

1) When Google does a search, it uses the cache page as its reference to determine what is on the page and what is not?

2) Does Google Search use any information from the source code html when determining what is relevant for search results?

3) In a nutshell, is the cache an accurate representation of what Google Search "sees" or is the "source code" relevant also?

Thank you!
