Hi, I have several affiliate links on my website. These are bitly links with nofollow attribute. I'm thinking of cloaking these links (while still being nofollow). I've read several positive things about cloaking links for SEO. However; also some negative things: I've read somewhere that Google can penalize cloaked links because you're (trying to) mislead Google by not giving the correct information about a link) My questions:
-Is cloaking links bad for SEO or is this not true?
- And if this is true; then wouldn't it be the same case now since bitly links also don't tell Google where they lead to?
- And; Should I replace my bitly links for cloaked links?
