rel="nofollow" to links that point to # hurt SEO in any manner?

Hello, I have some links that when clicked run some javascript, the href attribute of these links point to "#" these links open a popup for subscription, in the past these links where associated with an ad, so they have rel="nofollow", I just don't want to update manually all the links to just remove the nofollow, I wonder if leaving the links just like that woulc hurt my SEO due to the fact that the links point to my own website "#" so maybe that could confuse the search engines? well Im not sure, just don't want to mess it up. Thanks
