How to keep a high traffic page without getting sued?

Hi, guys! So let's say company X used to partner with company Y, and X's landing page that ranked for the partnership with Y got a lot of quality traffic. How great is that, right!?

Well, Y pulled out of the partnership and after about half a year they sent a request for X to remove said high traffic landing. And threatened with legal action.

I think you see my conundrum now. How can X keep the traffic without getting sued?

We have considered redirecting to a page with a similar topic but the original URL of the page has Y's name in it.

As you have probably guessed from my inept description, I am very new to SEO. So I would really appreciate any advice.
