Own domain/landing page for side-product or re-redirect to their main domain / homepage?

Hello,

I have a client who raised a question I am not sure how to approach it (I am web designer, but not a SEO expert). Let's say they sell cars and as a side-product they also have motorcycles in their catalogue. Similar, but not exactly same target group.

Anways, they bought a separate domain for their motorcycles and now they asked me what to do with it.

1. Does it make sense to build an exclusive landing page with this new domain for the motorcycles?
2. To use it as a re-direct to their main domain / homepage?
   1. If the latter, shall they create a landing page on their main domain and improve the SEO of that specific target group?

Thanks for the suggestions in advance! Btw. everything is sold under the same brand.
