Setting up Google Alerts in a More Nuanced Manner?

Hi everyone,

What's the best way to set up SEO Google Alerts so that:

I only get news on SEO?

Let me explain what I don't want. I don't want anything in the following list:

Anything about the Korean singer Seo.
Any porn results featuring the word "Seo".
Any racy adult films or sites featuring performers with the name "Seo".
Anything else with the name "Seo" that is not explicitly about Search Engine Optimization or other facet of Search Engine Optimization.

Is there a way to modify Google Alerts queries using operators for this purpose?
For example: I only want results for SEO-focused blogs, sites, and the like. Do I have to go so narrow as to only use the author?

Also - using the blog name produces terrible Google alerts. In the case of using just "Google," and "Search Engine Journal" it seems they pick up any of the words, rather than all of the words in context, so local news sites mentioning "Journal" not "Search Engine Journal." They also pick up mentions from other publications with one word that are not relevant to the actual query.
