What factors determine your autocomplete results in Google?

Hi folks,

Out of curiosity:

I've been tracking my vanity search results recently (ie, searching for my name) in order to monitor how the stuff I'm putting out on YouTube and my blog is indexing on Google.

I decided to start running this search every couple of weeks. But also to add screenshots whenever I noticed changes in the waterfall/autocomplete (I added the day's date to the screenshots).

I'm using incognito in Chrome and Googling from my actual IP (ie, without a VPN).

Comparing my two autocompletes, it looks as if, over the course of a couple of weeks, I've picked up two new autocomplete entries:

- My name + podcast

- My name + country I live in

On the 17th (of last month) I had four autocompletes (my name + four combination keywords). Now I have six (my name + five combination keywords).

My questions:

  • Is there any data on what kind of search volumes are required to pick up an autocomplete entry?
  • Is it all based on organic searches or are there other factors going into it?
  • Is it really possible to pick up autocomplete entries that quickly?

Thanks!
