Does this affect SEO?

Hi,

I would like to know that if I edit my blog post after it has got included in the search engines, say by adding or deleting some lines/paragraphs/words, does it negatively affect the search engine rankings? Mind you, I am referring to textual changes in the body of the post and not the slug, meta description, etc.
