I've been in this industry for over 5 years and I've never seen this type of thing happen before. Currently, I'm doing freelance and building my marketing agency.
So, I was working with 2 SEO clients for the last 1.5 yrs with around $5k per month per client. One client grew so much that they had to hire an agency 2 months ago and the other had to take a break from the business so she decided to hold the work until further notice.
I've got a habit where I send suggestions to brands or products that I like for free.
So, I was doing a bit of research for my case study when I found a website with a poor internal linking structure. I sent them 10 suggestions and ideas that they can use to boost their rankings and traffic. Just as I was about to hit Send, I decided to run the URL through SEMRush and I saw that they got hit by Google Algorithm Update last year when I offered my services that I'll be able to help you recover from the update.
Scheduled the call with the owner and co-founder the next day and closed the deal for $20k per month for the first 6 months and a 10% incentive on every monthly revenue increase after 6 months.
