If your title is "Why You Need to Do X" because you found that term is highly searched and you checked that the ranking articles (your competitors) for that term focuses only on the list of reasons why X needs to be done, would you just make your own list longer than the competitors' or would you also add other H2/subheadings like the definition of X, the different types of X, how to do X properly, etc.
I know making an article longer is better, but I feel like doing the latter would make me deviate from the main topic/title.
