Any guidlines for creating articles with backlinks?

Hey.

I create my blog content with surferSEO and it's time to build some quality backlinks.

I know that the article with backlinks to my should include phrases I'm positioning the given blog post at, so at first I thought about also creating them with surferSEO.

But then I thought, wait a minute, if ill create SEO-opitmized backlink article for a website that has a higher SEO rating than mine, then I'm running into the risk that the backlink article will be higher in search results than my own blog post I'm linking to.

This leaves me puzzled about how to approach this, and there isn't really that much information about this part of SEO on the internet.

So my questions are:

1. how the backlinking article should be written?
2. Should I include just a single link in the article, or more?
3. what's the best practice when it comes to anchor texts?
