An e-commerce store I was asked to look into has multiple coverage issues. One of the most notable ones is "Duplicate, submitted URL not selected as canonical" as specified by GSC.
This is slightly beyond my skill set as I'm still learning. My theoretical knowledge tells me is that Google sees these URLs as without the canonical tag, while some other, basically same URL/content has the needed tag for it to be indexed in its stead.
As these URLs refer to specific products, I am pretty sure there aren't multiple pages of those items uploaded to the store. I also checked for potential URL specifications such as for mobile, and also have found none.
At this point, I am unsure how to check where the duplicates are, what is indexed instead of these excluded URLS, or how to even look at this particular case.
Any tips will be appreciated.
