Hi! We get a lot of 404 traffic to our website and as I’m looking for some SEO advice. Here’s a few examples of the 404 links we see in google analytics:
- /ads.txt
- /apple-touch-icon-152x152.png
- /.env
- /sellers.json
- /resource...
- /Portals/0/EasyDNNnews/385/Archos.jpg
- /index.php
We also see a fair amount of traffic to 404 pages like:
- https:// [my website] /blog/pager/231864/page/1/Cloud
- https:// [my website] /blog/PgrID/1641/PageID/42/userid/3188/tag/on7-2
It’s definitely skewing my reporting, as our highest source/medium is direct/none because of this.
My question is, what should I do about them? We have no internal link to these pages, so I have no idea how to stop the traffic, or at least filter it out from the reports.
