Hi all,
I'm a little confused about silo structures. Let's say for example my site is about dogs and I have a page about 'Different types of Dogs'
My impression is that it would be like this
- 1. Different types of dogs
- 1.1 Pit Bull
- 1.2 Labrador
- 1.3 Poodle
Okay so I've created sub pages to my main silo of 'Different types of dogs' but now I've discovered that there are people who want to know about the different kinds of treats that you can give pit bulls so maybe you break it down. So would it then become...
- 1. Different types of dogs
- 1.1 Pit Bull
- 1.1.1 Treats that are good for pit bulls
- 1.1.2 Treats that are bad for pit bulls
- 1.2 Labrador
- 1.3 Poodle
Maybe it then turns out I need to break down the treats that are bad for them, so would it then become
- 1. Different types of dogs
- 1.1 Pit Bull
- 1.1.1 Treats that are good for pit bulls
- 1.1.2 Treats that are bad for pit bulls
- 1.1.2.1 Chocolate
- 1.1.2.2 Cheese
- 1.1.2.3 Coffee
- 1.2 Labrador
- 1.3 Poodle
Does that make sense?
I guess what I'm trying to figure out is at what stage do I stop breaking things down into sub pages for my silos? Would it make more sense to have the chocolate, cheese, and coffee all mentioned in the page called 'treats that are bad for pit bulls' instead? Am I overthinking this?
Thanks!
