Does ranking your blog page affect the rankings of your service page?

Hi all!
So, here's my question:

Is it viable to drive traffic to my the website by ranking the on-page blog with only informational keywords?

Will it affect the ranking of my service pages in any way?

I saw a few videos on YouTube regarding driving traffic to your blog and the crux is to update your blog only once in a week with the long form and thorough content which answers all the questions which the user may have while searching something on Google.

So, after doing some research on this, I got an idea to write a blog post, titled "How to get started with your Amazon Store in 2019". The blog post will be totally information oriented and will answer the What, Why, When and How of setting up the Amazon store. This is what I'm planning to do.

This is what my current practice is.

Update the On-Page blog every week once or twice with a 700-1000 word article relevant to the industry and just do some basic social sharing and off-page sharing. That's all. I get about 5-10 views on each blog every month.

Here are some more details:

Industry: IT & Data Processing Services

Traffic: 15,000 visitors per month

No PPC, No Social Media Traffic. No email marketing.

Service Pages have keywords with business intent and the blog pages have keywords with both informational & business intents. For example, the service page have "WordPress Development Services" as the targeted keyword and the relevant blog post have "WordPress development" as the targeted keyword.

Would really appreciate your insights on this.
