My agency gets a lot of similar questions from clients, and we also see small business clients who can't afford a professional agency but really need to know the basics of SEO. So I wrote a pretty long (6,000+ words - yikes!) blog post covering the basics of SEO including On-Site SEO - website structure, on-page content and page speed optimization as well as Off-Site SEO - content creation, backlink building and local SEO. Included a list of free SEO tools that anyone can use.
It's just a primer covering the basics but I hope some of you find it useful. I'd love to hear comments, suggestions or questions as comments to the blog post to encourage conversation there. But of course, this being Reddit, there's a comment button right below here.
