Clients being clients.

Man, this happens way too often. Someone will hire me to do an audit/setup, then after all the calls and back-and-forth via email, they'll come up with some reason for me not to have access to their Google Analytics, their CMS, or both.

I always say up front I need Wordpress access (or whatever platform they use), and that I need access to their Google accounts (biz listing, GA, GSC), and they always just gloss over it .... Until we're ready to begin.

Then it's always "Oh, we have a developer who makes site changes ... We don't want to step on anyone's toes ... Can you do the setup without access?"

or ...

"Nobody's had access to our Analytics for years ... We don't know who set it up. Here's a one-page PDF of a 'traffic report' a vendor put together for us a few years ago .... Can you use that instead?"

or my favorite ...

The client whose site is on Adobe Experience Manager and I've been told I'm under no circumstances to change the page titles or meta descriptions because that will break their site.

Clients, man. What you gonna do?
