I've been adding backlinks to my website around the web for a while now. This is from a variety of places: forums, article comments, web directories, social media profiles, blog posts, etc.
It seems like only around 10-20% of them are showing up on Moz's link explorer and Majestic link explorer. Most of them are not being found, even though some of them have been posted for weeks now.
Am I doing something wrong?
When I make a comment on an article for a backlink, I usually surround it with a short description w/ keywords about what the website is about. I realize though that this is very similar every time, so is this getting flagged as "duplicate content" or spam by google and not getting counted?
That's the only thing I can think of. In general, how long does it take for Google and third-party sites like Moz/Majestic to pick up on these backlinks?
