Hey. I noticed how one shitty article ranked very high for a keyword I want to rank for. But all I have to offer is better content. The competitor domain seems to be 14 years old. I haven't really done any other competitor analysis.
I just came across a pretty good domain name that is about to expire. It's also 14 years old but it has no backlinks. I'm wondering if age alone helps for ranking? Or is it a combination of domain age and backlink age?
I do realize I need to build backlinks either way, I'm just trying to decide whether or not buying a 14 y/o domain with no backlinks is worth it.
