How do you provide value for clients with an SEO agency when the results can take a while to show?

Hi guys. Just a question for setting up SEO audits/doing SEO for local businesses etc.

If SEO takes a long time to bring results for a business, how can you persuade a potential client that what you’re doing is valuable? Especially if you’re charging a retainer for your services.
