Long time web designer/dev, first time traditional SEO on my own. I have no DA and backlinks consist of reddit posts, a wordpress post and one new backlink from a retail location that sells my goods. New domain name purchased 4 months ago, registered in Google Search Console Sept.03,2019. My long tails have low search volume, however I am competing with Amazon, Ebay and others for these serps and there are sponsored paid ads on these pages. Results as of yesterday:
Google: 4 of 5 key phrases rank 12 to 20 on Google with 2 product rich snippets and an FAQ
Bing: Number 1 or 3 on front page results
What I did: All the fundamentals mentioned here such as H1, H2 and H3 with relevant keyword content, keywords in url structure, title, meta descriptions, org, store, product, article, breadcrumb, faq schema (article rich snippet has not worked), image optimization, blog connected to Pinterest, Google My Business, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, internal linking with targeted anchor text, opengraph, page optimization through caching, minification and Cloudflare CDN.
Search volume is very low, however it is increasing steadily. I have decided not to pay for cheap third party backlinks. I understand the importance of them and will be focused soon on obtaining quality links this next month. It's been a pleasure seeing my page move up and up. My focus phrases are such low traffic however I''m still happy and will be focusing on optimizing a long tail that get's a lot of search volume that I rank in the 60's for this week.
My friend who is an SEO said it's really good considering no backlinks as he is a backlink junkie. I'm still a little unsure as I'm so green to this.
So, what grade do I get? Thanks so much professor!
