I'm trying to optimize my presence in a new town for the Google Snack Pack for my business. I'm ranking second there (with 80X 5 star reviews on Google). First place is held by a brand new business with zero reviews. They show up first purely because my location is 15 miles away, even though I want to be very active with my services in that area, and my actual location really doesn't matter.
I thought maybe I could rank better by creating a service area business that just serves that area. I gave it a new phone number and everything, but it seems that Google won't let me have a pure service area listing when my primary business also serves that area, so I have to make a choice. Should I create a a pure service area business and surrender that area to the new listing or should I keep my current listing and somehow improve it to get a better rank?
I want the best solution for the long term.
