So for the past few weeks we have been top of the Google organic rankings on a key term. It's a competitive term with plenty of ads competing so we also bid for it on Google Ads, usually displaying in position 2 or 3.
To increase visibility, yesterday I upped our bid slightly on Google Ads for the term. Today, our ad now shows at the top, with a number of ad extensions. However, our organic position has gone down from 1 to 5.
No changes have been made to the landing page and we haven't lost position on any other similar terms.
Surely upping the Google Ads bid didn't result in Google "swapping" out paid for organic position?!
