Short Story;
Moving a WP/Woo Store that started as a standard blog to Shopify for various reasons. As the entity started as a blog, there is a lot of content with a VERY strong backlink profile.
Problem:
The WP/Woo site has a ton of technical debt and wasn't set up correctly from the beginning so a 'Migration App' isn't going to work. We're having to hand-code/copy-paste HTML from WP to Shopify.
At a certain point, only so many pieces of content/products are worth moving manually to Shopify.
We're planning to build out a very large re-direct profile/setup, but I'm wondering what else we could/implement to preserve backlinks as the owners know we are going to be losing some content/products in the process as it's just not worth the manual labor to port everything over.
Just wondering.
