I have recently started a niche website focused on the fitness niche. The site is monetized by Amazon Associates and I plan to use other monetizations later on so maybe google adsense but at a later stage one the traffic crosses a certain mark.
My main question is this. This site has a .in domain and all my money page articles are targeted towards Indian audience. However I would also like to target international audience especially the US market because the keyword volume is higher and there are a variety of keywords that I am targeting.
My question is that I am competing with other domains that have a .com TLD. Would I be able to rank on 1st page if I target these US keywords? Does google give location based preference to the sites..I've setup my google search console targeted towards India but I really want to target both countries and see which one works.
Even if I rank on the first page...would people click on a .in domain rather than .com domain?
This project is very critical for me as I am spending lots of efforts and money on this site and I really want this to be a successful project especially during these tough COVID times.
Any suggestions from SEO experts would be helpful...
