Speed does matter , my findings on updating my site

Usually I don't even check my site , it's a static WP site . But due to COVID-19 and lot of free time ,I decided I will check as it was generating leads for me previously too .

Things I did not do. I did not buy any link or get any new links added Nor my Domain authority or any such metric increased Nothing changed .

Things I did . Optimised my code by removing additional Js and unwanted files . Did everything what pagespeed was asking . Added CDN (current one offers good service at a very reasonable price) Observed the waterflow and decreased loading time Added Native lazy loading Compressed images to webP moving all css and JS files to footer Checked if any unnecessary files were being loaded on every page and getting them loaded on only select pages (in my case Google CAPTCHA script and code was getting loaded on all pages so programmed it to load on pages where forms were used )

Results I generated 6 new leads in past month itself whereas I hardly get 1 or 2 new leads a month .

Future thoughts I am considering creating a AMP based site in order to see if same results come . Not just for stories but a complete desktop + mobile optimised site from AMP .

Speed does matter when it comes to google , I would suggest everyone to get a look at thier pagespeed scores and suggestions , it will not cost you anything but you will get to learn a lot .

If anyone needs help in speeding up thier site I can help .
