Do you write for your clients?

If you have a client- let’s use a barber for instance- do you write blogs for them even though you may not have the experience or expertise in that industry. If so, you obviously study subjects to write about for blogs, but how do you know what to write about if you don’t have any insight into the industry. Since KW’s with blogs, services page, etc is one of the biggest ranking factors; Do SEO’s tend to stick within their niche in order to know what they’re doing when writing?

What I’m asking:

  1. Do clients sometimes write their own content and you (The seo expert) edit it to optimize for KW’s?

  2. Can you or should you get a client in an Industry you know nothing about... how do you do the SEO for something you know nothing about...

  3. If it is just link building, is this a cheaper option for your clients?

  4. How do you know what you write about with no expertise in the industry.

  5. With the above in mind...Do you stick to your own industry?
