Hi
I'm a web designer and I have a client who's requested that I make a number of variations of his landing page with keyword changes to make the page more local and come up in more niche searches. For example, the main landing page would have a heading like "Australia's best tutors". However, if someone searched specifically for tutors in hawthorn, there would be a duplicate landing page with the heading changed to "Best tutors in Hawthorn".
Is this a strategy that would actually work? I'm not really sure. I know I can fix issues with duplication using canonization, but then the pages wouldn't be indexed by Google.
What should I tell my client?
