I thought SEO is hard, but I realized it is not the hardest

They say 200 over factors affect how Google ranks a website.
I say 10,000 over factors affect how my girlfriend feels about what I did.

HELP!- Homepage Suddenly Not Indexed by Google

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Yesterday my home page was ranking in top 10 for 20+ keywords. And has been that way for several months.

Today, suddenly, my homepage started dropping in rank. I chalked this up to SERP volatility. Then later in the day I went to Search Console and tested the url, it said that it was not indexed by Google. The page itself is indexable (not mentioned in my robot.txt, no “noindex” Meta , etc) search console even confirmed the page was indexable but just wasn’t indexed.

I suddenly lost all my rankings. Over a year of hard work. Does anyone know how I can fix this. Is it just a glitch? Will Google adjust the SERP and fix once indexed?

Also: All other pages of my site are still indexed by Google. No errors in site map. Also went through everything in the Google help center and nothing helpful.

Am I in over my head?

Well everyone, hello. I'll cut to it: I recently accepted a contract (quite lucrative too) to do some SEO work and optimization for a local university. The CMO is a good friend of mine so he kinda jumped at the chance to contract me.

The first item on the docket is "Build out SEO components on essential landing pages using the Yoast SEO tool within Wordpress."

A little about me:

  • About a year-and-a-half of SEO experience, primarily in creating performative content + optimizing old content
  • Am very familiar with Wordpress and Yoast (we used these tools at my old job)
  • Did HubSpot's primer on SEO
  • Am currently actively studying SEO via Moz and ahref's content, but still feel sorely underprepared

So I guess what I'm asking is what is my best plan of attack? Like, for an absolute beginner, would you recommend creating an SEO outline in my first week just identifying essential pages and how to best optimize them? Is there some kind of worksheet you know of? I know a lot of SEO techniques, but I'm finally being thrown out of the frying pan and into the fryer, so to speak.

I appreciate any voices, opinions, and especially resources. Thus far I'm reading Moz's 101 guide to refresh my skills, and am thinking of signing up for ahrefs. I've also got Keywords Everywhere extension installed, with some credits.

I really want to do right by my friend, and it doesn't sound like there's a ton of pressure, but the fraudulent feelings are definitely there.

Thank you a ton in advance.

Internal Page SEO help please

At one point I had the 1st spot on Google for my real estate website. Unfortunately, huge sites like Zillow, Homes, Trulia, etc. with half a billion links blew me out of the water years ago so that I must now publicize the site other ways.
However, due to the virus curtailing my business I have decided to provide a service that does not require the usual constant people contact typical of the profession.

This service is presented at an internal page. The main competition does not have an unattainable number of links.

My question is how best to rank an internal page in first position or at least rank on page one.

Thank you. This is essential to our continued solvency as a company and my career of nearly 40 years as a Realtor.

Which page is the best to link to?

Sorry for newbie question, but I have an opportunity to link to my website and I was wondering which site it's best to link to?

/ site? Categories? specific products?

I'm talking about e-commerce website

Would linking to root site spill juice to categories?

Would I miss out on juice if I would link to specific product?

Sitemap hasn't been read in over 2 years - how to fix?

Hey everyone, ran into an issue I'm stumped on. New client is a large US company. Reviewing their GSC a few weeks ago I noticed their XML sitemap has a "Last Read" date of Sep 1, 2018. I've submitted the sitemap a few times already, and the "Last Submitted" date updates accordingly, but the Last Read date does not. I've even deleted the sitemap entirely and re-submitted and the error is still showing.

The # of URLs indicated in the sitemap is also incorrect (off by about 50%), so I'm fairly positive Google is indeed not reading their sitemap. Anyone run into this before and know of any workarounds?

How much time do you wait to see if a page will rank?

Hi!

How long does it usually take for a page to get to it's "final" rank:

a) new page on new website

b) new page on old website

c) editing a page on an old website

Let me know if you have experience with these three types of situations and how long do you wait do know if the page is ok or needs updating.

Thanks!

GSC ownership verification lost

I had my website connected with GSC using html file and never had any problems. Until 2 days ago. I open GSC to check performance and it says site not verified. I click verify with html file again and it said "file not found". I open my file manager and the file is there. Nothing changed and I still lost ownership of the site.

And the thing is I can't get it back. I tried html file, html tag and google analytics and nothing works. Any ideas why this might be happening?

Where/How to learn SEO that actually works?

Hi there,

I am interested in becoming an SEO expert. I come from an IT background and have some experience with WordPress and coding in general.

I have followed some online Udemy courses on SEO which seemed a bit dated to me but when I applied the techniques to my website for testing i got mediocre improvement.

The main things I've learned

  • Back links are important
  • Keyword and metatag optimisation on site content
  • Good content and being consistent
  • Suburb page listings where appropriate
  • Maybe using platforms like ahrefs and Moz which i don't really understand how to use right now.

To me this all seems like pseudo science and I am trying to find a legitimate process that can take me from no rank to first page or close for a site. I realise that it obviously takes work to achieve that, I just wanted to get an idea of whether I'm missing something. Is this something people go to uni for or do they just poke around sites until they list well?

Lastly, how do people generate quality back links? Like, if the backlink is an authoritive website then chances are they won't want to list you if you're a new site right? So I'm at a loss as to how people do this? For example my Amazon affiliate site might have great articles and maybe I manage to get them posted on other people's larger blog sites but say when you are talking about local businesses what do they do by comparison?

Any courses/advice/suggestions. Keen to learn but also tired of confusing inconsistent information. Also do people use Google AdWords keywords tool these days or is that now irrelevant? Bit scared to buy in to ahrefs right now cause I don't know how to use it.

Localising One Page on my Website

I've got one page (case study) which is a translation of another page on the website. I just noticed that the translated version is an orphan page, so it's not getting indexed.

As far as I know, the best way to do multi-language pages is to have the same page, but different language versions of that same page/url. But, my gut is telling me that perhaps if you have only one page out of 100+ in a different language, using this language variable page might not be the best option.

Another option is simply linking the English version to the translated one, and vice versa.

Which method do you think would be more beneficial in order to get better ranking?

Would gladly appreciate your help!

PS: using Hubspot as a CMS if that makes any difference.

Coding a theme with Wordpress, using variables as keywords?

So I have a WordPress theme with Woocommerce installed. I'm working on some of the template pages and I have a question about SEO. I can easily put the name of the product and store it as a variable, and dynamically put it on the site. For instance:

$someName = $product->name; echo ` <h1>$someName</h1> <h2>Facts about ' . $someName . '</h2>;'

If $someName was "Cool Toy", the site would generate: "COOL TOY... Facts about Cool Toy" etc.

My question is, does this hurt my SEO, or even affect it at all since PHP is generated by the server? Does google need to crawl hard-coded content, or can it crawl the above?

Testing SEO and Case Studies

I’ve been studying SEO and teaching others what I’ve learned for awhile now. However, I’ve never actually put what I’ve learned into practice on my own.

I was looking to create a case study that I can show others - look at this, it works!

Most people say, start a blog and work on ranking it. Starting a new site and ranking it quickly with white hat practices can take a long time. I also don’t mind doing it, but I’m also not a great writer...or maybe don’t have the discipline to write 2,000 word articles.

I’m looking for ideas on how to test out what I’ve learned and be able to show people. I want to do the work myself and invest little money into it so I have full control. This means writing, backlinks, etc., even if I have to learn to enjoy writing.

Other than a blog, are there any other ideas anyone recommends to see if what I’ve been learning actually works?

Or if a blog is a way to go, do I pick a topic I enjoy and go for it or do I also find something that’s easier to rank for? I like golf, but trying to rank a golf blog as a weekend golfer probably won’t do well no matter what I write.

How to fix 'Rich results test' missing fields?

Missing field "brand" (optional)

Missing field "description" (optional)

Missing field "sku" (optional)

Missing field "offers" (optional)

No global identifier provided (e.g., gtin, mpn, isbn) (optional)

Need advice in optimising a Local Business website.

I am working on SEO for a local business website. The business is actually a cake shop located near Brooklyn.

Here are the things that I've done on its on page SEO:

  1. Included proper keywords in Title, First paragraph, and in body of the page.

  2. Included alt text to images.

  3. Included proper Internal links in the webpage.

  4. Added Sitemap and robots.txt file

  5. Optimized Image size.

  6. The website was already pretty fast, so I didn't needed to much on that.

  7. Added proper schema markup

  8. The website is also mobile friendly.

Purchased a domain with lots of backlinks - will it improve SEO?

I have a new website with a domain (abc.com) which obviously very low ranking on search engines at the moment.

I've also just purchased an expired similar domain (abc1.com) which has a birth year of 2005 and around 2000 backlinks.

Aesthetically my preference is to keep abc.com however I assume there is a lot of SEO value in the abc1.com domain?

Want to get peoples opinions of the following options?

  1. redirect abc1.com to abc.com (abc as the primary domain, is there any added SEO benefit?)
  2. change abc1 to the primary domain (any drawbacks?) and then use 'abc' as a redirect to 'abc1' on instagram/facebook etc.

Is a website really necessary for SEO ?

I am a real beginner at SEO but I've said to one of my friend that I would help him rank up his society in google as I've got lot of free times.

The thing is his society is a retailer of a big company that already have a page on their site for his shop but the page isn't quite optimize for SEO (not enough keywords,...)

And he can't modify It, so I thought of creating a separate website so that I can do whatever I want on the site (articles to rank up, ...)

A couple of months later, I will be introducing another niche (that's why I think subdomains are the best approach). And after that another. All of them are in the creative arts space. Filmmaking, music production, audio stuff like that.
I just feel like hobby.mysite.com, hobby2.mysite.com and so on don't really have that company branding feel for each. But I also want some authority when I roll out these new sub domains. I was thinking about fowarding domains to another domain but I just don't know lol. Does anyone have suggestions? SEO is very important to me.

Need Real Estate SEO

Hi all. I’m new here, so I hope that I’m not “breaking” any rules. I’m looking for someone to hire who knows how to do website SEO for real estate targeting at least 2 different cities? I just had a Wordpress real estate website made. Also, I’d like to get my Google My Business listing high ranking. Thanks in advance.

Small Page SEO help

Hi everyone, so I'm new to SEO and haven't made a webpage since I went to college 20 years ago.

I have started a side business with a website and am trying to grow my rankings organically. It's a small website though only a handful of pages but my competitors are the same way. We all basically structure the website the same and have the same keywords for the most part.

For google maps I normally rank top 1 or 2 for my area but if you are doing a google search I am if lucky on page 8-12. So that means outlying areas wont' pull me up at all. I've slowly gone up in rankings since I launched the website\opened my business 3 months ago, but I've gone stagnant in the rankings now.

I've done what I think I can do the best I can. I know I am missing backlinks and I am slowly working on it. But I get results from out of state business's, results from business's 2 hrs away show up before I do. They don't even have keywords of my city or surrounding cities on their websites.

I'm not asking for freework just some advice. I'd love to pay someone to help with this but until covid is over I'm on a tight budget and trying to do it all on my own.

Right now I run my services from my home garage but my end goal is to open a shop as soon as covid rules are relaxed or over. But I want to be as high as possible on google rankings before I do so.

Thanks guys!

If I Take A Week Off From Posting Before I Rank Will It Hurt My SEO?

I hear that consistency and regular posting is a big ranking factor in Google. I'm kinda burnt out atm and could use a break. I've still got like 4 months to go before I rank.

Is this that big of a deal breaker?

How to select and optimize a website's primary URL for Google? (i.e. www.xyz.com, xyz.com, https://xyz.com, etc.)

I've read that you should 301 redirect all alternative URL structures to the one that you select as your 'primary' URL.

How do I know which structure is best?

How do I reflect this within Google Search Console and Google's crawling practices?

Are there any expected SEO outcomes of doing this generally?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Can you lose your traffic if your website gets hacked/compromised? And if so, can you regain it back easily?

Can you lose your SEO ranking and traffic if your website gets compromised by, let's say, a malware from a WordPress plugin?

And if so, how do you get your traffic back? Will Google actually remember your website and bring your ranking back to where it was before you got hacked?

Long-term negative impact on SEO because of GDPR.

Has anyone noticed or can share a resource on long-term negative SEO impact of GDPR?.?. I know bounce doesn’t impact rank in SERP, but long term is GDPR popup affecting UX causing bounce and decrease in rank?

Like, if google supports better user experience could this eventually cause problems? Or is GDPR just accepted as industry standard popup now and has zero affect on SEO.

Random Google Reviews

Hi everyone! I have a puzzling predicament. One of my clients has been receiving a bunch of random (positive) Google reviews on his Google My Business. He doesn’t know any of the reviewers (his company is small enough to know the majority of his customers) and as Google has started to prioritize reviews, I’m concerned about the ramifications of these reviews. Has anyone heard of fake positive reviews causing issues? Does Google do anything about these and does this have the potential to harm his SEO or should I just thank my lucky stars for some kind strangers?

Fairly beginner workflow for free tools & trials

My wife and I run a small shopify website and I’ve started doing improvements for seo now that the site is generally functional for a while.

I’ve been using so far:

  1. Chase Reiner paid SEO template, I’ve been working through this but the in-depth videos assume we have pro versions of the key seo industry tools. I’ll probably buy a year sub of screamingfrog because I’ve found it really useful when I was changing my link URLs but won’t keep it indefinitely

  2. ongoing free semrush account to track the keywords for our “top 10” keywords list related to 6-7 key products from our catalog along with other free-level tools they offer like the pagecount limited site audit

  3. lifetime Ubersuggest since it’s the only one I found that wasn’t unaffordable ongoing monthly fee and will use this to track 150 keywords rankings long term, and use the site audit tool ongoing.

The next step on my radar is to make the most of a chain of tool trials with a few goals in mind:

  • Determine the 10 “best” keywords for me to track ongoing in the SEMrush free account after the trial
  • End up with a list of the best 150 keywords in each tool’s opinion to track ongoing in Ubersuggest. My plan is to follow the Chase Reiner paid template process for this during a trial of these tools.
  • Use the various writing tools to improve the writing of our top targeted product pages, like the SEMrush “writing assistant”
  • Gather useful data exports before trial ends: keyword exports including “magic keyword” queries from semrush, keyword lists including the metrics, site audit reports.

Monthly Ahrefs and semrush are certainly outside our ongoing budget so I want to make sure I take away as much key actionable data as possible to continue working with on our other tools we WILL have ongoing.

My thoughts are to start with ahrefs 7d trial since it’s the shortest and then take the exports to semrush (30d) for further processing as well as using their tools to generate another dataset. Moz also has a 30d but I’m not really familiar with their offering so far. Is this a pretty solid sequence, and are there any tool-specific reports I might kick myself for not having after a trial ends, or during months in the future I might pay for a single-month membership?

Sudden spike in impressions (2K to 11K in one day)

Hi all,

I am relatively new to SEO and am currently trying to get more visitors to my website.

In Search Console I noticed a huge increase in impressions only to return to normal the next day. The impression number went from a fairly stable 2,000 to 11,000 in just one day. The next day it returned to 2,000 again.

Anybody have any ideas on what could have caused this?

There are no keywords which have an extreme amount of impressions, even the amount of keywords I ranked for that day seems to be average. It's just that all of them seem to just have more impressions.

I absolutely despise backlink building.

It's a painful and tedious process to do it manually, so I'm looking for ways I can potentially automate some of it to benefit my time.

By automate, I'm talking about tools or services that allow for better management of my building and allows me to use templates.

Can anyone recommend a good, solid tool or service that offers me to perform editorial outreach but gives me some templates to tweak and automate emails that send out and follow up after a certain amount of time.

I also have clients primarily focused on local SEO, so does anyone have any experience with someone like BrightLocal?

I'm happy to write my own content and I'm not too particularly interested in companies like FatJoe where the link will probably be 0 value and die off within a matter of weeks. I know a lot of good ways to build backlinks, but I figure I can just spend my time a little better if there were tools or services out there to help take off the manual edge of outreach which works 5% of the time.

If I can do it in more volume then it helps increase my chances of it actually working.

Any advice is appreciated, cheers.

Computer repair business SEO only half works

Hey all,

So I've been running a computer repair business for about 6 years now and trying to get my site to rank higher. I have managed to get it to page 7 on Google on my own and it has fluctuated between page 4 and 8 for the term "computer repairs Adelaide" in the last few years.

I guess I've thrown in the towel with trying to boost it any higher. I've followed online courses on how to do SEO which I found on Udemy and this got me where it is but no higher.

The main things I've done have been:

  • Paid for a press release on a larger site (this did boost me up the rank and I've stayed there)

  • Changed all my keywords to match my search terms

  • Updated my meta tags

  • Posted my site everywhere in every directory

  • Affiliated with some friends who stuck my link on their business sites.

Things I tried that didn't work for me...

  • Create a business landing page for every suburb in my area

I'm not really sure how to get "back links"... This seems impossible to me.

I had the idea to create a lot of quality content blog articles that lead consumers of my demographic to read them and flow to my page. I wrote a few articles felt it was a waste of time... Is it? Is this how people get their back links?

Any advice would be appreciated. You are talking to a stubborn person who wants to do this himself... Please don't try and sell me your SEO plans

Switching Google Analytics to GTM: Organic User Data Issues?

Hey everyone,

Having a bit of a problem with Google Analytics and Tag Manager and hoping you can help me out. Placing pretty good odds on this being something super obvious I've missed too.

I'm working on switching my Google Analytics implementation to Google Tag Manager rather than the hard-coded implementation I've previously had.

I've got the GTM implementation running in a new Google Analytics property side-by-side with the historical implementation right now. The configuration of the two is exactly the same, right down to every event we're tracking.

Seeing about a 1.2% difference in most data points, but there's a massive discrepancy when it comes to Organic and Direct traffic: the GTM set up is significantly under-attributing traffic to Organic and over-attributing to Direct compared to the old set up.

Do you have any ideas why - or what I should look at more closely to figure this out?

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

How best to promote guides for link-building?

I have a number of guides for the same target audience, eg truck drivers. I'd like to know (A) how best to find prospects and (B) How best to entice them to link to us.

(A) Would it be better to search for sites that discuss the same topic? Eg if a guide is on "Trucker Tax Deductions", should I look for pages ranking for this KW and then pitch them our content to link to.

(B) The benefit my prospect would achieve in linking to our content is that it "takes a different angle" or "adds something valuable to the topic". Does this sound like a convincing/persuasive pitch to entice them to link to my guide?

Best way to optimize site for multiple cities.

Hey there,

Quick question, I want to target keywords for two cities that I'm located between but I don't want to create 'duplicative' content for both pages. How should I focus my keywords using yoast SEO on wp.

Option 1: Create individual pages for both cities, focus keywords 'City1 Real Estate Photography', and 'city2 real estate photography'. Create the content and just change it up for the specific cities.

or

Option 2: Create individual pages for desired keywords and then 301 redirect the pages to a general real estate photography landing page. (this is option im leaning towards) I just don't know how it will affect SEO ranking.

Thanks for any insight.

When a niche is too narrow?

I've been looking and asking for an answer to this for a while, but still nothing cleared my mind up.

Shortly.

I want to open a web design studio. I've figured out that niche down, focusing on a specific typology of professionals, would increase the chances to get projects.

I did a keywords analysis for different niches (both for my potential clients and potential client's client).

In both cases, i could find a small amount of keywords (maximum 10), and all of them with a monthly research volume of 1-10/1-100.. maybe just one with 1-1000.

Using these keywords to set up a campaign (always google tools) and get more detailed stats, i got a forecast of hundreds of impression and a dozen of click.

I don't really know how to gauge these data, but they looks really poor and not really worth the efforts.

I would like to know more about the decision making process basing on keywords data, when something worth work on it, when a niche is too narrow.

Hope someone can help it clear this out.

Thank!

Local SEO: Best practice for company name for business with multiple locations In GMB

I am studying up on Local SEO as it relates to managing franchises or businesses with multiple locations in the same city or county.

The goal is to ensure the most relevant listing appears for the searcher. Location is a top factor so your NAP is critical to reach this goal.

But is there any value of adding the location in the company name to differentiate from the other locations?

Ex.

Company Name - Location Yogurt House - Miami Beach Yogurt House - Surfside Yogurt House - South Beach

Or would just using the name “Yogurt House” be ok?

Hopefully I explained this properly. If I need to clarify anything please lmk. Thanks in advance.

Help/advice for probably my first SEO job (finally)...

Hi there SEO’s, this is gonna be a long post asking for some help/advice and I hope some professionals here can help me.

Let me clarify something before going to the topic. I’m kinda new in SEO but I have been learning for about about a month now all the basic stuff, Local SEO, SEO on-page, Off-page, basic web design, learn to code (at least basic level), content creation, technical SEO, mainly. And I have designed a website for some friend’s local business but haven’t publish yet so no experience ranking.

The topic is, after searching job for almost all the time while I am learning (mainly scholar or content writer), I have an opportunity now in a medium size company.

The company is mainly focus in one province but have different franchises over the country, so it’s kinda semi-known. They’re ranking top5 for their main KW (in their province) and top 1 for the mid-tail KWs, but the website is not optimized at all. No H1, no KW focus, no blog or content apart for the basic introduction to their services, also the website is very deep like 6-7 clicks for the main objective of the site. So there’s a lot of job that can be done. Also, other provinces franchises are not ranking in their cities apart from the ones in the main province.

The problem, and my question here is: -I have the opportunity to (try =90% sure) join as a scholar and work with the Dig. Mkt. team (mainly focus on the app and maybe i’m the only one doing SEO) and have the opportunity to trial and error. (less salary, less work but more comfier (i don’t like comfort zones xD)). -Or join as a employee, do all the SEO job (which I don’t know how to aboard and what’s first) also co-working with digital marketing team. And try to get results. The thing here is I think i’m capable of, but I don’t know how to aboard some of the problems, also the boss is a close friend of one familiar and I’m scared I can screw something up when they’re doing very good. (more salary, more work (which i like), but I can’t do try-error in my early stages in a SEO job.

Thanks to all, specially the ones who read until the end! ❤️ Sorry if my english is not perfect but in my favour i’m not native.

Hope someone help 🙏🏻

Question regarding SEO services

Hi all, I’m new to this sub so please forgive me if I’m asking in the wrong place here.

I create a small but quickly growing podcast with my partner and am looking to hire a freelancer to carry out SEO optimisation for the site to drive traffic.

As I hope you can appreciate, there’s a fair bit of jargon which I’m having trouble cutting through as someone unfamiliar with SEO, so I was hoping somebody here might be able to offer some insight into what the fundamental/most important aspects of SEO are that I should ensure a freelancer can offer me.

If it helps, here’s a link to my website: https://www.modernguilt.net

Thanks in advance!

Does newswire/PR services still work for SEO?

I used to use PR services for backlinks with good success. Do they still work? Have you had any success with PR lately?

Content approval solution

Hi there,

I write SEO content for clients and need a tool to help organise clients, set up recurring tasks and get customers to approve content.

Does anyone know of any good solutions?

Who is your go-to source for good SEO info?

Hey everyone, a quick background, I've been doing online work since 1999 (seriously) yet I still completely suck at SEO. I've never been good at it no matter how hard I try.

I think the main reason is that I get information overload and end up trying 5 different techniques at the same time and then getting impatient when I don't see instant results because I am not sure if any of the 5 are even valid techniques.

So I humbly ask, if you had to start over with SEO right now and follow a site, youtuber, blog, anything and are confident that person's information will lead you in the best possible direction at ranking high, what would it be?

Disclaimer - I know there is no magical path to ranking and no one person has all the right answers, but I'm basically looking for a guide from someone who knows their stuff and could tell me basic things like...

  1. Make sure to have at least one H1 tag per page but no more than one. No more than one H2 per page.
  2. Make sure to have meta description and title
  3. Make sure to have schema tags
  4. Make sure to have a sellers.json file with information if you have ads
  5. Proper alt tags on images
  6. Get relevant link backs (and maybe tips on HOW to get those links)
  7. Write your title with the keyword in it

Stuff like that. A basic checklist to go through to make sure your site is properly built before going through the task of creating the content. I am well aware relevant content is king and that's the only reason I get search traffic today, but I'd like to dominate some key words after making sure my site is properly built.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I feel like my site offers such great information for the topic I am in, but it's buried on like the 4th page for some crucial keywords. And I say that with confidence about offering good content because I do get millions of pageviews a month largely from the social media, bookmarks, and people searching directly for my site. I just need proper site structure to make sure that aspect of SEO is at least correct.

Thanks

The SEO lead at my job wants our online service website hero section to have a 100-word paragraph of keyword text as an SEO strategy. Isn't this crazy or am I in the wrong here?

I may be biased as a designer but I just haven't seen other websites using this strategy in at least 15 years. I know that it's bad design but is it also bad SEO?

The content of the text is not exactly nonsense but it isn't exactly giving the user useful information, it's just the same info worded different ways over and over. Another thing they want to do is use certain words in H2 headers over and over, which I've asked about here in the past.

I'm trying to figure out if my job hired some amateur posing as an SEO expert or if I should just shut up and do what they say.

Shopify SEO: view=quick pages missing description tag

Not sure what to do about these pages that are coming up in my audit software as missing description tags. Im assuming this is a common issue for Shopify stores but havent been able to find a verified solution for this.

Is having missing description tags on these view=quick pages affecting my stores ranking? How should i fix these pages if so?

SEO opinions and reviews?

I have been thinking of committing the time towards learning SEO, and applying it as a potential side hustle:

I wanted to ask for insight from everyone on whether you believe SEO is a good idea for a side hustle? I currently have a full time corporate job and would like some side income.

  1. Is SEO work very time consuming?
  2. Is there still a strong market for having SEO skills?
  3. I’ve heard it can be very boring, has that been your opinion of SEO?
  4. Any other thoughts/opinions are appreciated!
