I have tried to experiment a bit with word count. The typical recommendation you get is that the more words the better. I think this is funny, though, because I have never seen factual results for it in my own post. Both 3000+ word posts and a 323-word post have been ranked in the top 3.
So what exactly are the recommendations here. Are more words better, or is it just the way it has become because everyone thinks it's better, ergo SERP is filled with articles with thousands of words based on an illusion?
