Please give me your advice on advanced SEO situation. Aiming to rank for specific brand keywords and avoid keyword cannibalization

Hey guys,

My client, who is a doctor, wants to rank for one specific keyword , which is his name. The website currently ranks 5th and 6th on that main keyword. (biography and homepage and on 5th and 6th , what do you suggest ? Which one should I focus oN? Biography has more text and is better optimized where the homepage has a stronger backlink profile. How can I avoid that cannibalization and focus on one page?

The website should be n1, there are third party hospitals ranking in top 3 now.

The website is in local searches (top 3 for several keywords, do not tell me to use google my business, its already used)

It was in terrible conditions when I got it. I have fixed sitemap , robotx and hreflang issues, wrote H1 tags, title tags meta descriptions about a week ago. Site was badly crawlable and no it is in good health and much better on-page optimized.

I have built some directory links, but he does not have enough budget for link-building yet.

What can I do to rank higher for that one specific keyword, which is a brand name? I have the name in the title, meta description and h1 tags, Should I wait for the fixes I did to give results? Or do some extra things?

Or is the link building the only chance for faster results?
