Can I link to site A with site B, but not to site B with site A without getting punished?

Basically, site A is a niche (dropshipping) store and site B is an affiliate site in said niche.

Will I get hurt in the rankings when I have articles on my affiliate site (B) linking to site A? However, site A never links back to site B, so there is no link wheel.

Would this hurt my SEO short/long term on site a and/or b?
