Google Business Listing - How to verify by phone / Which businesses can verify by phone

Hi all,

I just wanted to ask the community who has had success verifying their GMB listing/location by phone?

Are there any rules you know of which allow certain types of businesses or locations to be able to verify by phone? Have you had any success with this in the past?

In my time as a web dev and SEO I have requested many postcards from Google and they are very frustrating, many times not showing up at all (I have requested some in Southern Europe, The Caribbean and the UK).

I'm hoping someone has some insight which can make this process easier as it is ridiculous requesting postcards, liaising with clients, waiting for them to expire, and then requesting again with no way of knowing if they will ever show up or if a location will ever be verified (which I have to relay to clients, doesn't look good and is a huge waste of time and money).

If there is a way to enable Google to verify by phone that I am not aware of I would be very grateful for any thoughts or stories on this subject.
