updated someone's personal website, want to improve position on a direct name search

i don't really know much at all about SEO, but i recently updated a small profile website for a translator, to modernise design/simplify it/make responsive etc

i figured if i just kept it straightforward and honest to the content it would be fine, and i could tackle the rest later, so i took care of the bare minimum with clear meta descriptions that feature the keywords. im noticing that on a direct search of the person's name, the page places only abt 6-8th on average because amazon and goodreads links to the person's works appear first. ideally, the person's profile website should at least be visible without scrolling.

any tips on how to address this, or where to look for more info on where to get started?
